Items

 JdF

  •  Discussion of shipping needs.  Mike Conway needs to know what is being trucked, what will be on boat, in order to know what Clague can bring.  We have no idea what Harvard will want to load.  This item needs attention.  MBARI will need one complete 48' trailer.  Here's the Santa Moncia shipment for the Methane mound deployment.
  • We will have 4 Ro-Pak's, two inside our van and two outside.
  • Battery sleds were going in moon pool, but now may be shipped up on this truck (scattered among our van and ro-paks) and disassembled/reassembled in moon-pool area in Oregon.
Mission planning
  • Brent already has code that will stop DWSM from starting the next sample if voltage below a threshold limit. This can easily be modified to stop ISMS if voltage drops below a (higher) threshold, in order to conserve power for Core functions.
  • Will try to setup a test of this before he leaves.  Chris P., to work on mission next week.
  • Talk to pilots about mission planning.  How does diving each morning to replace battery impact Clague dive plans?  What is the radius they are willing to travel from ESP site, as coming up and moving boat will not allow enough time for meaningful work to be done by him at another site.
Communication
  • We plan on using same hull transducer in WF for acoustic comms to the D-ESP.  Hans Thomas has connectors that allow our Benthos box to connect.  Need to check with him about this as date approaches.

Hawaii/New Zealand

  •  Shipping container being researched by Grech.  Must make sure that plywood interior walls do not encroach on the 45"x48" dimensions of Ro-Pak.
  • Our goal is a van that can be used 'intermodally' (ship, truck, train), maintain 40-60F, and use available power without too much hassle to convert...
